More on dynaSight Printing
Here are a few more guidelines for those of you getting
deeper
into the printing business...
1) It may happen that you have problems with
extra pages being printed that you were not
expecting. More often than
not, the root of the problem is one
or several objects that you marked as "invisible" in the
corresponding
Properties window.
2) Should you require that the printing produce a
PDF file then we strongly recommend
that you test from the very beginning with the
appropriate infrastructure and not wait
until many print documents are complete. The
reason for this is that the conversion programs
from Adobe and Ghost use completely different
printer drivers in their conversion routines
which often cause artifacts in the conversion
and may look quite different as normally
printed documents. The printing quality may also
vary significantly if you do
not plan correctly from the very beginning.
3) Try to keep graphs and charts small relative to the printing
region.
Of particular importance is that no graphs or
charts border on the printing
region, i.e., keep them as much as possible deep
within the printing region.
For line graphs with time series, test your printing
with daily, weekly
and monthly data. As your data fills out a given
year you may find that your chart
changes in clarity when printing and the quality
is reduced. If you take this into account
from the start you should see no problem later.
